As a Mary Kay consultant I realise it is important to try the products I am selling. It means I can sell with integrity, which I personally believe is very important. Although I haven't tried all the different types of Mary Kay Foundations and skin care range, as there are a lot to get through. I have heard from a number of reliable sources that the CC Cream with SPF15 gives a lighter finish than the foundation and works really well for a day-time look.
Here are five key points to consider when choosing your foundation and creating the perfect look.
1. Skin type
Mary Kay offers both an oil absorbing foundation, Matte-Wear. This suits the oily to combination skin type. While the Luminous liquid foundation is more suitable for the normal to dry skin.So how can you tell? That dry sensation that you might experience after a facial wash often indicates that you have dry skin. Apparently when your skin is dry it produces its own natural oils. You will notice a slight sheen on the tip of your finger, when you press and slide your it all the way down your forehead to the tip of your nose. This can often indicate an oily combination skin.
For combination skin types, I think it boils down to the look and finish you want for your skin and your personal preference. I like the glowing affect that the Luminous look provides and I value the benefits it adds to my skin.
2. Coverage
Whether you are looking for a slight glow or a flawless finish you are sure to find a Mary Kay foundation to meet your needs. From liquid foundations, cream to powder, to mineral powder and CC Cream (tinted moisturiser), there are many affordable options.Luminous Liquid Foundation provides full coverage and flawless look. It's special ingredients means that it is kind to your skin.
3. Shade
If you are using Mary Kay for the first time you can request a few samples of different shades to get the right match. This is really useful during winter months when our skin is prone to adopt a lighter shade, as opposed to the tan we obtain from the sun.I find it helpful to have a few foundation shades in my makeup bag. It means I can play around with my foundation to create that highlighting and contouring affect.
4. Concealer
Using a concealer that is a few shades lighter than your normal foundation is great for cover ups. Pay attention to your undertones. Warm tones will use a red base and Cold tones will use a yellow or gold base.5. Skin Care
I have noticed the value of applying Mary Kay's Foundation Primer. The small tube gives approximately 120 applications and creates this amazing smooth finish. It is also offers great protection for the skin, if you want to go all natural.Of course make-up is great to create that flawless look. We need to care for our skin to maintain a youthful look. I've seen Mary Kay Consultants or shall I say Directors who have been using these products for 20 years with beautiful younger looking skin. I recently heard that we start losing the collagen in our skin at age 15. So we should not deny our skin the ever so important daily skin-care regime.
The Skinvigorate Cleansing Brush helps to remove all the daily grime from your skin. We should always remember to wash our skin at night. The Timewise Skin-Care range is certainly a worthwhile investment.
